Ms. Boyd's journey with Clarios (formerly Johnson Control) began in 1997 when she joined the company as the technical manager in the Automotive Interiors business. She grew into operations management, and later became a regional launch manager of advanced power solutions. She also served as the director of launch management and as the director of global poly manufacturing engineering. Transitioning into various other directorship roles during her tenure, she also spearheaded the Manufacturing Engineering Knowledge Academy project, the Operations Bootcamp program, and was instrumental in expanding Clarios's global footprint as the Director of Strategic Execution.
During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Boyd was employed by Owens Corning Fiberglas, where she worked as an engineer and supervisor from 1989 to 1997. Her technical acumen and leadership skills were honed during this period, laying a solid foundation for future roles.
Ms. Boyd graduated from East Kentwood High School in 1986. Subsequently, she received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University in 1991, a Master of Business Administration from Cornerstone University in 2015, and executive training at Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in 2021.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Boyd is deeply involved in industry-related organizations. She has been a member of the ManufacturingNEXT Committee at Inforum and is affiliated with Women in the Global Battery Industry through Battery Council International.
Ms. Boyd's commitment to civic engagement is evident through her long-standing involvement with Paws With A Cause, where she has served as a volunteer and board member since 2008. Additionally, she was the head coach for the equestrian team at Wayland Union Middle and High School under the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association from 2008 to 2021 and the men's diving coach at Wayland Union High School's swim and dive team from 2019 to 2021.
In light of her hard work, Ms. Boyd has received several Merit Awards and two Chairman Awards throughout her career. She is particularly proud of launching the lithium-ion plant in Holland, Michigan, an achievement that included touring with President Barack Obama.
