SAN FRANCISCO, CA, August 21, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Carol Karahadian, PhD with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Carol Karahadian, PhD celebrates many years' experience in her professional network and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
An accomplished, passionate educator with years of expertise teaching high school mathematics and science, Dr. Karahadian fell in love with chemistry while deciding what field to pursue. Her father steered her toward food science, as there would always be a need for experts in the food industry. After earning a master's degree and a PhD in food science and flavor chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Karahadian began her professional career as an assistant professor in the Departments of Food and Nutrition at the University of Maryland and Purdue University.
In the following years, Dr. Karahadian gained valuable expertise at Firmenich, developing programs in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States as the vice president of global sensory. Likewise, she honed her skills as the director of global sensory and consumer science for the Starbucks Coffee Company before establishing her eponymous consultancy, C. Karahadian & Associates, LLC, in 2017. As owner and managing partner, Dr. Karahadian provides sensory and consumer science advisory services, specializing in sensory training and analytical sensory and consumer-driven product development testing techniques for startups and large companies. Through these services, companies can establish trained expert panelists in taste and smell and identify consumer-acceptable products.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Karahadian is affiliated with several industry organizations, including the American Chemical Society, the Institute of Food Technologists, and the Society of Sensory Professionals. Additionally, she contributes to her community as a board member for Saint Francis Living Room, a safe haven for low-income seniors.
Given her professional achievements, Dr. Karahadian was named the Woman of the Year through Women in Flavor and Fragrance Commerce in 2013 and was inducted into Purdue University's Hall of Fame four years later. While her career has been filled with highlights, she is proud of mentoring and teaching others. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her success to her parents' support and the guidance of her esteemed major professor, Dr. Robert C. Lindsay and colleague Jean-Phillippe "JP" Lebudel. Within the coming years, Dr. Karahadian intends to transition from business and focus more on volunteering in her community.
