His most notable achievement during this time was his contribution to the development of groundbreaking semiconductor technology – high-k dielectric materials - that is now widely used in devices employed in various applications such as phones and computers. This new technology had been under development for several years and despite initial skepticism from the scientific community, his belief in the technology was ultimately validated. He is currently involved in developing energy-efficient neuromorphic computing technology—a promising approach with the potential for groundbreaking advancements in artificial intelligence.
Dr. Bersuker's early career in the science field began in 1981 in the Academy of Sciences in Moldova, then he had been working in Leiden University, NL, and The University of Texas in Austin, US. Over the following decade, he honed his skills and built a foundation that would support his future endeavors in electronic technology research and development.
His educational background laid the groundwork for his extensive contributions to science and technology. Dr. Bersuker earned a Master of Science from St. Petersburg University in Russia and a Doctor of Philosophy in theoretical physics from the Academy of Sciences of Moldova in 1981. In addition to his professional achievements, he is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He has also been involved in organizing/chairing/presenting in the International Reliability Physics Symposium, ESSDERC, IEDM, ECS and other conferences. He has over 600 publications on semiconductor processing and reliability and electronic properties of materials.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Bersuker follows new developments in social studies and psychology. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends who are spread all over the world.
