SANDERSVILLE, GA, August 22, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Wm. Hovey Smith has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Smith has established himself as a business consultant and writer with over five decades of experience providing aid to outdoor businesses in transition and producing books on outdoor, health, and business topics. Since the 2010s he has placed more emphasis on business books, novels, and screenplays. His most notable business book is "Make Your Own Job: Anytime, Anywhere, At Any Age" which received favorable reviews from Kirkus and The U.S. Review of Books. His business and scientific reputation caused him to be invited twice by the People's Government of China to deliver presentations, of which the most notable was "Finding the Creatives Within Your Corporation of Country" which was delivered in Zhenzhou in 2015. Inspired by bronze Chinese cooking knives, Mr. Smith founded Hovey's Knives of China to produce these classical knives and his original designs in modern steel as the old designs represented thousands of years of evolution to make efficient cooking implements.

A prolific content creator, Mr. Smith has been selling his writings since the 1970s. He has authored more than 20 books and created over 1000 YouTube videos. His expertise in writing novels and screenplays has become widely recognized in his novels, "Until Death Do You Part: An American Family Meets Their Sicilian Cousins," and "The Goldfarb Chronicles: Moving With Baby, The Solitario, Bruster County Law." The last is unusual in that the trilogy takes the same family through a situation comedy, western adventure and concludes with a courtroom drama. Smith also produced well reviewed screenplays based on his first book and the three parts of the trilogy. Mr. Smith also hosted and produced the podcast radio program "Hovey's Outdoor Adventures" from 2010 to 2012.

Mr. Smith's educational background in both the sciences and in military service laid a strong foundation for his successful career. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Georgia in 1961 and a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Alaska in 1971. He also did post-graduate studies at The University of Arizona and University of Arkansas.

Throughout his career, Mr. Smith has received numerous accolades. He was twice informally called in Alaska, "A legend in his own time." for continuing to work under adverse circumstances. He received a Distinguished Service Metal for his actions as a First Lt. of Engineers in the U.S. Army, and Letters of Commendation from the Governor of Alaska. His screenplay "Blood Ties" won the Hemmingway Award at a Los Angeles film festival and other screenplays have placed well in competitions. His newspaper features, magazine articles, and novels have won more than 20 awards from state and regional writers' organizations.

Grateful for surviving many life-threatening experiences, Mr. Smith credits his resilience and dedication, noting his philosophy that although everyone faces challenges, they should never give up and continue forward. The guiding rule for his business ventures has been "There is nothing in human experience that cannot be turned into profit by an inventive mind." Another common theme in his books is the realization that life is in continuous change as to issues of physical ability, health, economic conditions, natural disasters, etc.; and a person must develop the mental flexibility to change with changing circumstances and have some fun doing it. He has just completed a new screenplay "The Buzzard Squadron" which describe a B-36 and B-52s being prepared for a mission to save humanity and is planning a new business book which will consider the impact of Artificial Intelligence on future job markets.
