Brian Theory Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Software Development

Brian Theory lends years of expertise to his work with NASA

Through multiple startups, Brian leverages his expertise in algorithmic art and large language models.

LOS ALTOS, CA, August 23, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brian Theory has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

The saying, "It isn't how far you go in life, but how far you came to get there," perfectly encapsulates Brian's journey, reflecting his resilience and determination in overcoming numerous obstacles. Born in Wisconsin, Brian's early years were marked by instability and significant personal challenges. Determined to forge a brighter future, he moved to Los Angeles in 2000 at the age of 20. However, after being robbed, he found himself homeless. Despite these hardships, Brian's resilience shone through. During this challenging time, he spent over three years living in a Christian house and church, a period that would test his resolve. His dedication and perseverance paid off in 2004 when he achieved his dream of attending Caltech, which marked the beginning of an extraordinary academic journey.

In 2006, Brian earned an undergraduate DAAD fellowship for research at Technische Universität Berlin, where he discovered the Erasmus program. Five years later, he joined Europe's prestigious Erasmus Mundus ALGANT program, transitioning from computer science to pure mathematics and studying in Italy, India, and the Netherlands. During his master's thesis in Padova, Italy, he developed a model for Ignacio Matte-Blanco's concept of the unconscious using P-Adic Ultrametric fields. Additionally, he discovered Correspondence Matrices in his ambition to mathematically model "self-awareness" and the "MIND."

Brian's professional journey includes significant contributions at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where his efforts aided in the deployment of an adaptive hyperspectral compression algorithm on the International Space Station. As a computational neuroscientist at Palo Alto University, he employed deep learning to innovate in psychometrics, aiding in anxiety and depression diagnostics. At NASA Ames, he developed a solution for approximating heat flux within the ArcJet model testing facility and is currently the lead software engineer in the development of a state-of-the-art data acquisition system for the heat shield testing facilities, contributing to the success of future space missions.

Brian has advanced Correspondence Matrices (CMs) and Propositional Logical Topologies, along with other mathematical constructs he's discovered. He pioneered a technique for creating fractal art that, using a variation of his CMs, encodes hidden messages by combining mathematics with art. Currently, he is developing a platform that allows users to easily generate 'Fractiles' (Fractal + Tiles)—intricate art pieces that combine mathematics, programming, and cryptography. His goal is to help children overcome math anxiety and appreciate the value of mathematics, encouraging them to further consider STEM fields. You can see some of his art here: Brian's Fractal Art.

Through multiple startups, Brian leverages his expertise in algorithmic art and large language models. His goal is to return to his ideas of 'self-awareness' and the concepts of 'being and becoming,' which are explored on his site, B-Theory. His vision includes not only achieving success in his startups to fund initiatives that advance his mathematical pursuits but also employing others to inspire interest in STEM. Since 2018, Brian has pursued these ambitions primarily while living a nomadic lifestyle in various vans, prioritizing resources for his visionary projects. Guided by his favorite quote, 'Be the change you want to see in the world,' Brian has been a dedicated vegetarian for 17 years and transitioned to veganism for the last four. An adventurer at heart, he has lived in eight countries and eagerly anticipates exploring many more. A passionate guitarist, Brian plans to record videos of his improvised music, creatively incorporating STEM topics to inspire others in exploring the wonders of math and science.
