Since 1991, he has focused his efforts on engaging in projects in the hospitality industry, collaborating with clients and translating their ideas for hotels and casinos into designs, drawings and specifications. Under his leadership, the Friedmutter Group is at the forefront of innovation, design and leadership for the casino and hospitality industry. They have completed numerous outstanding projects lie the Horseshoe Cincinnati Casino, the Twin Arrows Resort Casino, the Horseshoe Cleveland Casino and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, among many others. The company was named Architectural Design Company of the Year by the American Gaming Institute and Reed Exhibitions in 2006.
Prior to establishing his company, Mr. Friedmutter began his career as an architect with Mervyn's, Bank of America, Henry Conversano and Associates and Speedway. Following this time, he served as the vice president of Mirage Resorts, Inc. until becoming the vice president of design and construction for Bally's. Over the course of his career, he has been featured in numerous publications, including the South China Morning Post, the Arizona Daily Sun, Mass Live and The Gazette.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Friedmutter has won several design awards for Green Valley Ranch, IP Casino Resort, Cache Creek Resort, Harrah's Atlantic City Resort and other landmark projects. In 2004, he was honored with a Recognition Award for The Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center of Atlantic County and received recognition from the National Indian Gaming Association. He also received the Best Suite award from the 2007 Las Vegas NEWH HOSPY Awards, a 2007 Sarno Lifetime Achievement Award for Casino Design and nine other HOSPY Design Awards the same year for his work on the Red Rock Resort. Additionally, he received a Hospitality Industry Network Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008, a Design-Build National Award of Excellence for the Quechan Resort Casino in 2009 from the Design-Build Institute of America and Casino Showroom/Theatre of the Year by the 2017 Casino Entertainment Award, among many other awards for his suites and casinos.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Friedmutter earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the School of Architecture from The Cooper Union in 1973. Well-qualified in his field, he gained a LEED platinum certification from the United States Green Building Council in 2016 and is a registered architect for the State of Nevada and 43 additional states. Within the coming years, Mr. Friedmutter intends to continue engaging in his profession, passionate about integrating green energy and environmental design into architecture.
