With over 35 years of experience, Mr. Milin has distinguished himself as a commercial and bankruptcy litigator. He is now the principal of Milin Law PLLC, a firm specializing in litigating novel, complex issues in state, federal and bankruptcy court. Mr. Milin previously honed his legal skills at major New York firms such as Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP as well as at the bankruptcy boutique Togut Segal & Segal LLP.

Prior to beginning his practice of law, Mr. Milin served as a research assistant for Professor Arthur Miller and as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He also served as a law clerk for Judge Alvin Rubin of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, which helped him gain invaluable insights into the judicial process.

Mr. Milin's expertise in analyzing novel legal issues and developing creative litigation strategies has been widely recognized. He has published articles on legal developments and was chosen as a panelist for the American Bankruptcy Institute's Annual Spring Meeting in 2017. His notable achievements include representing the court-appointed expert in the Calpine case, where he assisted in producing an expedited report addressing a five billion-dollar valuation dispute.

Another significant case involved conducting an investigation for Delphi Automotive into hedge funds which had committed to financing Delphi's emergence from bankruptcy but were alleged to be manipulating the market to avoid fulfilling their commitment. Mr. Milin began his career as a bankruptcy litigator by representing the Enron bankruptcy estate, for which he litigated billions of dollars in claims against eleven banks which allegedly contributed to Enron's financial machinations and subsequent downfall. In 2024, Mr. Milin led a five-day trial in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Mr. Milin's educational achievements have played a crucial role in his professional success. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Public Affairs at Princeton University in 1978, after which he was awarded both Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Politics at Oxford University. Mr. Milin delivered one lecture at Oxford in 1984 before leaving to study law. Mr. Milin received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1988. He is admitted to the bar in both New York and Massachusetts.
