As a young man in the Dominican Republic, Mr. Taveras became interested in computers. Years later, upon moving to New York, he seized the opportunity to pursue his passions further, earning an Associate in Occupational Studies degree in Networking and Computer Technologies from Briarcliffe College. Upon graduating, he joined Bright House Networks as a helpdesk analyst. Between 2004 and 2014, he held several roles, including Network Operations Engineering, Lab Validation and Testing Engineering and Staff Design Engineer for the company's managed wireless networking. He held several distinct positions as the company's subject matter expert for national, commercial and public Wi-Fi deployment, Cellular Backhaul Operations Engineering and PON infrastructure design and deployment. Mr. Taveras was recognized as Engineer of the Year and Employee of the Quarter several times for his work in Bright House Networks (now Spectrum).
In the ensuing years, Mr. Taveras honed his expertise in non-executive and executive roles with Ruckus Networks where he wrote technical guides, was subject matter expert for the company certification programs and served as head trainer for some of the world's largest Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Multi-System Operators (MSOs).
Driven to expand his professional knowledge, Mr. Taveras earned several certifications, including Cisco, CompTIA Network +, A+, Alcatel NRS certifications and Shipley certification, amongst others. Backed by years of professional experience, he excels as the Global Head of Alliances for Project Fort Zero at Dell Technologies, where he leads the development of a security partner ecosystem under the Office of the CTO. As head of alliances, Mr. Taveras owns the contract negotiation process for new alliances, develops new pricing structures, liaises with the various teams at Dell such as legal, procurement, and logistics, and collaborates with top global internal and external executive leaders to ensure the new alliances align with company goals and overall strategy. Prior to Dell, Mr. Taveras led a global resell business comprised of over 80 partners in the areas of Networking, Security and Telecom services at Dell resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.
Mr. Taveras stays current in the field by aligning himself with the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals and by contributing to his community as advisor of XYS, a non-profit organization that empowers children's education about artificial intelligence, finance, investment, and stock trading.
