    SAN JOSE, CA, August 28, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mehwish Nasir, MBA, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Nasir is a distinguished management consultant with over 10 years of experience in the IT, telecom, petroleum, government, utilities, humanitarian, health, education, private, public, crown corporations, not-for-profit and nonprofit sectors. She and her team work on developing solutions and implementing them. Additionally, she operates as an independent management consultant. She currently serves as an executive board member of Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN) Global, a governing body primarily consisting of Pakistani entrepreneurs and professionals including venture capitalists, scientists, social leaders, academics, and students from all walks of life. In this capacity, she oversees governance issues for all its 15+ chapters and is also involved in establishing new chapters in the United States, Pakistan and internationally such as OPEN London. The organization offers professional development, learning opportunities and networking events. The organization hosts various global events, including a recent OPEN global June 2024 retreat in New York.

Ms. Nasir's professional journey began as a software engineer technical lead at LMKR from 2003 to 2005 before being promoted to program coordinator for one year. Over the next several years, she worked in an academic setting as a part-time lecturer at the COMSTECH-OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation from 2003 to 2004, a faculty lecturer at the National University of Sciences and Technology from 2006 to 2007 and a faculty lecturer at COMSATS University Islamabad in 2007. She then transitioned into program management, contributing to the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication from 2007 to 2008 and the United Nations Development Programme from 2010 to 2011.

In 2012, Ms. Nasir took on the role of deputy manager monitoring at Ignite National Technology Fund. From 2014 to 2019, Ms. Nasir permanently resided in Canada and worked as a project and program manager and agile coach for various clients in the U.S. and Canada before immigrating to the U.S. in November 2019 and serving as a project manager at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2020 to 2021. Finally, she joined Accenture as a management consultant for two years before transitioning to her current position.

Ms. Nasir's career also includes roles as an ambassador with the American Pakistan Foundation where she has served on the leadership council team since 2024 and has been part of their national leadership council since 2021. She is also a lifetime member of the Fulbright Association.

Ms. Nasir's educational background includes a Master of Business Administration in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial studies from Rochester Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in information technology from the National University of Sciences and Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in computer science. She also holds several certifications, including SAFe Agilist 5.0 from Scaled Agile Framework Certification Training, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner and Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute and Scrum Master Certified from Scrum Alliance.

Ms. Nasir is very proud of her research during her master's degree in information technology, which identified significant challenges facing the Pakistani software industry. She would later expand this research to address global issues applicable to Canada, U.S. and worldwide. Her work earned her citations and recognition, contributing to her attainment of American immigration in 2019. She has also authored several publications, including "A Survey of Software Estimation Techniques and Project Planning Practices "and "An Empirical Study to Investigate Software Estimation Trend in Organizations Targeting CMMI-SM" presented at the IEEE, ACIS International Conference on Computer and Information Science in Hawaii in 2006.

In recognition of her professional accomplishments, Ms. Nasir has received numerous professional awards. These include a Fulbright Scholarship from the United States Department of State Fulbright Commission, a scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Technology in Pakistan, participation in the Twelfth Workshop on Technological Innovation for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Based on Science and Technology by IBI-Beijing in China and a U.S.A-Pakistan Scholarship on Grid Enabled Knowledge Management Systems by SEECS-NUST.

Causes Ms. Nasir cares about include, but not limited to: Education, Social Services, Children, Disaster and Humanitarian Relief, Poverty Alleviation and Health. That being said, Ms. Nasir have been very actively donating and supporting Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust (SKMT), Edhi Foundation, The Citizens Foundation (TCF), Zindagi Trust since last couple of year and some recent most additions are The Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP) and the GiveLight Foundation.

Outside her professional life, Ms. Nasir enjoys meeting new people, exploring different cuisines, participating in outdoor activities, appreciating arts and culture, blogging and practicing yoga. She is also actively involved in civic organizations, including pro bono work with the American Pakistan Foundation, OPEN Global and the Fulbright Association and serving on various diversity and inclusion committees. In the future, she plans to continue her pro bono activities with OPEN Global and the American Pakistan Foundation while advancing her career in management consulting.
