Alongside his work with Training Employment Solutions, Inc., Mr. Orr is the president and chief executive officer of VetPropulsion™. As a career coach specializing in the hiring process using the Birkman Method® and veterans issues, he works closely with fellow veterans to prepare them for civilian careers. A steadfast supporter of the Birkman Method®, he also serves as a level two senior consultant with Birkman International, through which he has created position profiles for Fortune 1000 companies. Due to his considerable business acumen, Mr. Orr has also authored and co-authored publications in RMLDA The Land Developer and AMOD Journal. His work with VetPropulsion has led to a significant increase in the number of veterans successfully transitioning to civilian careers, and his publications have been widely recognized for their insights and contributions to the field.
Before establishing his organization, Mr. Orr honed his expertise in career consulting and veterans services in executive roles with ITESI Global, Colorow Consulting, Inc., Veterans Green Jobs, and Veterans Educational Services, Inc. His early career experiences with the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra, the Colorado Department of Labor, Beltway Government Solutions, Inc., the eponymous Orr Consulting Group, and MLB Associates, coupled with his service as a navigator and bombardier Captain in the United States Air Force, have equipped him with a wealth of industry experience.
An expert in his field, Mr. Orr holds a Bachelor of Arts in government from Indiana University, Bloomington. Subsequently, he expanded his knowledge by completing level one and two certifications and a Senior certification through Birkman. In conjunction with his educational and professional endeavors, he has contributed to his community through various organizations as President, including Bayaud Industries, Leadership Denver (President of the first class now celebrating 50 years), the Mile High Military Officers Association, the United Veterans Coalition of Colorado, winning the very first Veteran Friendly Award from the Veterans Administraton (VA) in the USA and the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve, where he has been a military outreach coordinator since 2015.
Given his outstanding achievements, Mr. Orr earned a Marksman Certificate and an Aircraft Combat Crew Member's Certification through the United States Air Force, as well as a Certificate of Achievement in Transportation Planning from the Colorado Department of Transportation and a Certificate of Recognition through the U.S. Department of Defense. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in helping others turn their lives around.
