Ms. Tanko's professional journey began in Hungary with a 14-year career as an operational manager and a tax and accounting consultant. In 2015, she joined global insurance firm AIG Europe Ltd in Budapest as an accounting handler, as a first step in corporate world, and two years later she transitioned to CSM Bakery Solutions, a global leader in bakery products and ingredients, in Budapest, initially serving as the interim chief accountant, being promoted to Finance Manager Hungary after 5 months. In 2020, Ms. Tanko was hired as a Finance Manager Hungary for CHS Inc, a leading global agrobusiness company in Budapest, where she worked until she started her journey in the United States in 2022.
In her career one of the most notable achievements was successfully introducing a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. By integrating this ERP, she skillfully led cross-departmental teams in a collaborative environment and managed the transition between two systems, additionally conducting the audit with the esteemed Big 4 accounting firm Deloitte.
In her current role with Our Planet Recycling, the largest private recycling center in California, her expertise was instrumental in securing and managing the Finance Operations, positioning Our Planet Recycling San Francisco with BOTTLEBANK as a pilot project at the forefront of the recycling industry.
Ms. Tanko's major contributions to the company can be categorized into several key areas: organizational development, finance transformation, and team development.
Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Tanko has also found success as the owner of OptiZone Consulting LLC. Founded in 2022, the company specializes in finance operations, process implementation, and the management of administrative tasks, business operations, and organizational change, among other areas.
Ms. Tanko's academic background is an extensive one. In Romania, she earned an associate degree from the Technical School of Economics in 1992, then earned another associate degree as a registered accountant from the Europa 2000 Economic and Technical Training School in Budapest. After working in the business world for more than a decade, she continued her academic pursuits and earned a bachelor's degree Economist in commerce and marketing from Eszterházy Károly University in 2014. She also holds several certifications in business coaching, Accounting Foundations-Integral Controls and Critical Thinking - Problem-Solving. Additionally, she is a chartered public accountant certified by the Hungarian Ministry of Finance. Ms. Tanko has attained the equivalent of a Master's Degree in Finance from an accredited institution in the United States, University of St. Francis, College of Business and Health Administration. Currently she is studying Communication and Tax at City College of San Francisco.
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Tanko is actively involved volunteering in civic organizations such as the Hungarian Reformed Church of San Francisco and the Hungarian Catholic Mission in the San Francisco Bay Area.
