Johann Schumacher Celebrated for Significant Contributions to the Fields of Manufacturing and Development

Johann Schumacher has been recognized for 40 years of success in research and development

Since 2022, he has served Isola Group as vice president and technical fellow.

GILBERT, AZ, September 04, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Johann Schumacher has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Schumacher, a distinguished professional in the field of manufacturing and research and development (R&D), has dedicated 40 years to advancing process engineering and technology. Since 2022, he has served Isola Group as vice president and technical fellow, drawing upon decades of preeminent experience at Isola Group across Europe and the United States. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated technical knowledge and judgment, creative problem-solving, innovation and leadership prowess, which have been exemplified through his contributions to process engineering advancement, including mixing, treating and coating technologies that are used in Isola Group factories across the globe.

Mr. Schumacher's journey with Isola Group began in Duren, Germany, in 1984. He joined the organization as an analytical laboratory manager and chemical engineer, remaining in these capacities until 2000, when he attained the rank of a manager of technical analytics and deputy R&D leader. From 2002 to 2003, he subsequently served as a manager of process engineering and, later, as a manager of technical development and R&D.

Notably, Mr. Schumacher served as the director of technical development and R&D in Europe between 2004 and April 2008. In May 2008, he was transferred to the Isola Group headquarters and corporate R&D center in Chandler, Arizona. For the following four years, he was the corporate director of process technology, advancing to corporate senior director of process technology between 2013 and 2017. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Schumacher was the senior corporate director and technical fellow between 2017 and 2022.

Mr. Schumacher has significantly contributed to process engineering, particularly in developing a specialized mixing process for resins containing inorganic fillers and implementing machines across Isola Group's facilities. This initiative greatly improved the production processes. Notable for improving approximately 14 Isola Group products, Mr. Schumacher boasts comprehensive experience in the glass fabric impregnation process, coating technology and a special polymer mixing technology, which he introduced, established and helped implement in all Isola Group plants worldwide. Furthermore, he contributed to developing analytical techniques instrumental in overcoming challenges in key product development projects, including with the team that successfully commercialized the products. In recognition of his contributions to the field, Mr. Schumacher received the 2001 Rutgers Innovation Award, and all the company's analytical laboratories were named in his honor as the Johann Schumacher Laboratories in 2017.

Mr. Schumacher's academic background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements, earning a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen, Germany, in 1978. Impressively, he holds one Japanese patent with three pending U.S. patents. He attributes much of his success to a professor of inorganic chemistry who mentored him during his early career in a chemistry laboratory. Additionally, his positive working relationship with one of his former bosses at Isola Group significantly influenced his professional growth.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Schumacher enjoys restoring cars and motorcycles, a passion to which he plans to dedicate more time in the coming years. As he nears retirement age, he aims to gradually transition out of his current role at Isola Group and potentially explore consulting opportunities.
