Mr. Farrell's journey within the company began as a kitchen manager at the first Egg Harbor Cafe in Hinsdale, Illinois. His dedication and hard work saw him rise to the position of general manager, where he authored the entire operations manual using limited technology. Mr. Farrell also garnered tremendous success in addressing various challenges within the restaurant industry, from coordinating food orders to delivering exceptional customer service.
Inspired by his father-in-law, Jack Wright, Mr. Farrell entered the restaurant business despite having no prior experience. He trained in Pacific Grove, California, and took on diverse roles within the company, from washing dishes to becoming president. This hands-on approach allowed him to acquire essential skills for running a profitable restaurant and establishing a successful business. Today, the organization has transitioned to the third generation, with his son at the helm and Mr. Farrell serving on the board of directors.
Mr. Farrell graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 1981. In addition to his professional achievements, he is actively involved in civic organizations, such as Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Helpco. These affiliations reflect Mr. Farrell's commitment to giving back to the community and supporting causes that align with his values.
