With over a decade of experience in call center development, IT hardware support, server administration and emerging technologies, he has established himself as an expert in his fields. His current role involves supporting customer service phone systems and automation, programming and troubleshooting the phone system, coordinating with carriers, managing call flow from the IVR to agents or other destinations, implementing new features and overseeing projects within the company's customer service area.
Mr. Johnson's career at MidAmerican Energy Company began in 2010 when he joined as an ACD systems administrator. Over seven years, he honed his skills in resolving issues, escalations management, software updates and supervisory skills. In 2017, he transitioned to the role of unified IP analysis II, where he continued to excel until 2019 when he was promoted to his current position. Before joining MidAmerican Energy Company, he worked as a senior hardware technician at Pomeroy Technologies LLC from 2007 to 2010 and also served as a professor at the Eastern Iowa Community College District.
Mr. Johnson's educational background includes an Associate of Science in management information systems from MacMurray College, obtained in 1988. In addition to his formal education, he has earned several certifications that have further enhanced his expertise. Among these are several certificates from Genesys Cloud CX, including Outbound Certification, Scripting Certification, Professional Certification and Quality Management Certification. He has also completed multiple LinkedIn Corporation certifications related to confronting bias and OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilities.
Further contributing to his field, Mr. Johnson has participated to creative publications, being featured in the monthly newsletter at MidAmerican Energy "Power Source" as the first "Humans of MidAmerican Energy" where he shared insights on balancing professional responsibilities with personal interests. He attributes his professional success to his ability to adapt his thinking as he moves between different companies with diverse philosophies and procedures.
Outside of his professional career, Mr. Johnson is deeply involved in civic activities. Since 1998, he has served as the director of music ministry at Metropolitan Community Church of the Quad Cities in Davenport, Iowa. Additionally, he volunteers with local disabled organizations. In 1993, Mr. Johnson fulfilled a lifelong dream by purchasing a 1905 craftsmen cottage called the "cobble cottage" in the town where he grew up and is currently working on projects that will keep the house looking period but with upgrades in the bathroom and kitchen areas.
