    DULUTH, GA, September 06, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Prof. Jagdish N. Sheth has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Prof. Sheth, a distinguished scholar in marketing and research, has dedicated more than 65 years to his profession. He currently holds the title of Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Marketing at Emory University, a position he has held since 1991. His expertise in behavioral sciences and marketing has significantly influenced both academic and professional spheres.

Prof. Sheth's illustrious career began as a research associate at Columbia University from 1963 to 1965. He then served as an assistant professor of marketing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1965 to 1966 before returning to Columbia University in the same role until 1969. In 1968, he expanded his international experience as a visiting professor at the Indian Institute of Management Kolkata. He joined the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign Campus in the fall of 1969 and remained there until 1984.

From 1974 to 1975, Prof. Sheth was the Albert Fry Visiting Professor of Marketing at the University of Pittsburgh. He continued his academic journey as a visiting professor at Copenhagen Business School from 1976 to 1977. Subsequently, he became the Walter H. Stellner Distinguished Professor of Marketing at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he served from 1969 to 1984. Before joining Emory University, he was the Robert E. Brooker Professor of Marketing at the University of Southern California from 1984 to 1991.

Prof. Sheth's educational background is equally impressive. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting and business management from Loyola College (University of Madras) in 1960, followed by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Pittsburgh in 1962. He then earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Behavioral Science from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business in 1966.

Throughout his career, Prof. Sheth has been an active member of several academic organizations, including serving as Chairman of the Board of the Academy of Indian Marketing and as a member the Board of Governors for the Academy of Marketing Science. He is a past President and co-founder of the Association for Consumer Research (ACR), and past President of Division 23 (Consumer Psychology) of the American Psychological Association.

In addition to his academic roles, Prof. Sheth has made significant contributions through his civic engagements. He and his wife founded the Sheth Family Foundation and the Madhuri and Jagdish Sheth Foundation. They have endowed the AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium, the ACR Sheth Foundation Doctoral Symposium and the AIB Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium. His dedication to empowering others is evident in his mentorship of over 60 doctoral students, many of whom have become esteemed scholars.

Prof. Sheth's contributions have been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious 2020 Padma Bhushan Award from the government of India, and the four most highly recognized awards from the American Marketing Association. He has been awarded Fellowships of the Academy of International Business, The Association of Consumer Research, The American Marketing Association, The American Psychological Association and Distinguished Fellows of The International Engineering Consortium, and The Academy of Marketing Science as well as several Lifetime Achievement Awards from various civic and cultural organizations.

Professor Sheth has authored or coauthored more than three hundred papers and several books including Clients for Life (2000), The Rule of Three (2002), Tectonic Shift (2006), Self-Destructive Habits of Good Companies (2007), Chindia Rising (2011), The 4 As of Marketing (2012), Firms of Endearment (2014), Breakout Strategies for Emerging Markets (2016), The Sustainability Edge (2016), and Genes, Climate and Consumption Culture: Connecting the Dots (2017), and most recently, India's Road to Transformation: Why Leadership Matters. His autobiography The Accidental Scholar (2014) has been an inspiration to many others in the areas of education and academic entrepreneurship.

Prof. Sheth's commitment to hard work, motivation, and openness to new challenges has been instrumental in his success. His belief in finding mentors who can help individuals unlock their full potential has shaped his approach to teaching and mentoring throughout his career.
