Leveraging more than three decades of excellence to his credit in criminal defense, family law and estate planning, Mr. Bystricky is the head of his own firm. Since 2000, he has focused his efforts on representing clients charged with misdemeanors and felonies, as well as clients who are in family court. He also prepares and guides his clients through preparations of their last will and testaments.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Bystricky earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New York University. He then attained a Juris Doctor degree from the Pace University School of Law in 2000 and was admitted to the New York State Bar Association the same year.
Mr. Bystricky studied Slavic languages and literature as well as fine arts at Yale University from 1971 to 1973. He is also a qualified United States interpreter for the Slovak language; he has personally interpreted in the highest level of United States government including for Associate Justice Sandra Day O'Conner at the Supreme Court, for the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Sheldon and several United States district court judges. In addition he has interpreted for foreign dignitaries such as the representatives of the military of the Slovak Republic as well as Slovakia's Deputy Prime Minster.
To date Mr. Bystricky occasionally serves as an interpreter and translator. He has worked for the UNICEF United Nations for 10 years. He continues to focus on criminal defense and estate planning as well as family law.
Mr. Bystricky is married to his wife Jeanine Bystricky and lives in New York State with his two sons, their wives and his three grandsons.
