Before joining TEKsystems, Mr. Gobin directed enterprise information system issues as the Chief Technology and Information Officer for S.M. Jaleel, a global non-alcoholic beverage manufacturing company headquartered in Trinidad. Initially based in Trinidad and then Microsoft's Corporate offices in in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, he pioneered Microsoft's growth in the West Indies from Bermuda to Suriname with upwards Year on Year (YoY) Business Growth, Customer and Partner Satisfaction, People Management, Team Scorecards and Personal Development. He also served as director of Professional Services for Illuminat. During the initial stages of his career, Mr. Gobin gained valuable expertise in information technology management as a Director of Management Information Systems, and CEO of Information Technology Services, subsidiaries of the Neal and Massy Group of Companies.
Over the years, Mr. Gobin was educated in mathematics and computer science at the University of West Indies, attained a diploma in management development from Georgia Tech University, and a diploma in systems analysis and design techniques through the National Institute of Higher Education in Trinidad. Dedicated to continued education, he has also completed several Udemy courses in digital strategy road mapping and digital transformation and a generative artificial intelligence certificate through LinkedIn. Driven to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, Mr. Gobin has maintained affiliations with several organizations, including SOLIS, the Trinidad and Tobago Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group, the T&T Network Information Centre, and the Information Technology Professional Society, where he served two terms as president. He also served as a director (12 years) on the Board of the National Library and Information Systems Authority (NALIS) of Trinidad and Tobago. He is currently on the Board of the Trinidad and Tobago Network Information Centre Ltd (TTNIC) for the last 26 years. The TTNIC is the organization responsible for the management of domain name registrations on the .tt domain of the Internet.
In addition to his professional endeavors and affiliations, Mr. Gobin contributes to his community by organizing fundraisers to support underprivileged families during Christmas and sponsoring the education of between two and five children every year. Given his considerable achievements, he was honored with the Caribbean Luminary Award by the American Foundation for the University of the West Indies for supporting educational projects in the Caribbean. Mr. Gobin has won several sales awards during his tenure with Microsoft.
