Drawing on years of expertise in investment portfolio management, Dr. Park excels as principal at Wilmington Capital, managing trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth clients, with the Royal Bank of Canada ("RBC") acting as his clearing partner. Previously, he held a similar role as president of Brean Murray, Carret & Co.'s Mahler & Emerson Inc., an investment banking company. Likewise, he served his state as vice chairman, director, and acting chairman of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, through which he helped build baseball stadiums for the New York Yankees and the New York Mets and assisted in the renovation of Times Square. At the tum of the century, he developed expertise in business strategy and strategic planning through various executive roles. These included managing director of Lehman Brothers, delegate for the Holy See ("the Vatican") to the United Nations, managing director of Rafferty & Co., president of Cobane Raffety Capital Markets, and managing director of the Potomac Funds, which was later renamed Direxion Funds that offers leveraged index and alternative-class mutual fund products. During this time, Dr. Park was appointed by President Bill Clinton as the director of the Federal Home Loan Bank, where he remained through the George W. Bush presidency.
During the early stages of his career, Dr. Park gained valuable finance and operations management expertise with the Interpublic Group of Companies, Callon Petroleum, the United States Tennis Association, Live Nation Entertainment, and as the statewide campaign manager for Bill Allain's election as Governor of Mississippi. Before establishing himself professionally, he earned a Bachelor of Arts from Western University and a Master of Public Administration from New York University. Subsequently, Dr. Park received a PhD in international and developmental administration from New York University, a postgraduate degree in theology through the General Theological Seminary, and various financial certifications through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Park contributed to the United Nations Commission on Transnational Corporations as an affiliate during the early 1980s. Given his outstanding achievements, he was named an honorary citizen of the City of Natchez, Mississippi, in 1985. He received the State of New York Military Commendation Medal through the U.S. Army National Guard in 2002. While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Park takes the most pride in being appointed the director of the Federal Home Loan Bank and becoming the director of operations at the U.S. Open Tennis Championships at a young age, for which he was featured in The New York Times.
In the past five years, Dr. Park has been honored with his induction into the Pilgrims Society and the Social Register.
Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Dr. Park credits his success to persistence and common sense.
