BROOKHAVEN, GA, September 09, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Cary S. King with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Cary S. King celebrates many years' experience in his professional network and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Inspired by stories such as "To Kill a Mockingbird," Mr. King was driven to pursue a career in law. After earning a Bachelor of Science in industrial psychology from Georgia State University in 1963, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. In the following years, he became a captain, serving in Vietnam during the height of the war before retiring as a lieutenant colonel to pursue his legal dreams. Upon completing a JD at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School, Mr. King was admitted to practice through several legal bodies, including the State Bar of Georgia, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Over the years, Mr. King gained valuable expertise in construction, civil and criminal law, contract disputes, and commercial litigation through partnerships with Blackburn, Shuster, King, and Cart King Mediation and Arbitration. Dedicated to continued education, he became a registered neutral, arbitrator, and mediator through the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. A seasoned attorney with decades of expertise, he excels as an attorney with SK Law Group, his son, Scott King's practice. Backed by his wealth of experience, Mr. King assists clients with civil and criminal matters related to family law, business disputes, estate and probate litigation, employment issues, and real estate/construction matters. One of his notable cases, The State of Georgia v. Tonya Craft, was detailed in the book "Accused."

Cary S. King's commitment to the community is a cornerstone of his life. He aligns himself with the American and Atlanta Bar Associations, the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association, Veterans of Foreign Wards, and the Vietnam Memorial Foundation. Additionally, his affiliation with the U.S. Humane Society, the Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Library of Congress' Atlanta History Center, and his role as a state project coordinator for veterans pro-bono clinics through the State Bar of Georgia's Military and Veterans Law Section, demonstrate his altruism and dedication.

Mr. King was inducted into the Georgia Military Veterans Hall of Fame due to his professional achievements. He received an award from the Office of General Counsel of the United States Veterans Administration for devoting a decade and a half to charitable work for veterans. For his military excellence, he won various medals, including a Commendation Medal, an Air Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm for Valor Award, a Purple Heart, five Bronze Stars, three Army Commendation Medals, and a Combat Infantryman's Badge. In 2013, he also won the Marshall-Tuttle Award from the State Bar of Georgia.

While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. King takes the most pride in providing pro-bono legal services for veterans. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to the inspiring words of a Marine sergeant who served in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive at the same time as him: "For those who fight for it, life has a flavor the protected never know." Looking toward the future, Mr. King intends to support his son's law practice by training and hiring young lawyers to assist his son.
