NEW YORK, NY, September 10, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A. Jared Silverman, Esq., has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Silverman is a distinguished attorney and founder of the Law Offices of A. Jared Silverman, where he has been practicing since 1997. With a focus on entrepreneurial law, he advises startup businesses on various issues, including innovation, market entry and international expansion. He also provides guidance on financial transactions and serves as an escrow agent and paymaster for those transactions. His expertise in operations research, systems engineering, economics and innovation stems from his engineering background, which he leveraged to develop a unique legal practice.

Mr. Silverman's career began in engineering, where he worked for eight years from 1963 to 1971. Starting at Western Electric, he designed and implemented systems for automating manufacturing processes and forecasting future requirements for space and personnel. He left to become Assistant Director of Operations Planning at the American Stock Exchange, where he implemented and oversaw project and cost control systems for the Exchange's automation projects.

Mr. Silverman then transitioned to law, earning his Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 1970, graduating first in the Evening Division. He started his legal career as associate at Huber, Magill, Lawrence & Farrell, where, for five years, he practiced before the New York State Public Service Commission and the Federal Power Commission. In 1975, he rejoined AT&T, to work on the various antitrust cases pending against AT&T, including U.S. v. AT&T. In this capacity, he specialized in monopolization and pricing theory, as well as organization structure.

In 1990, he retired from AT&T as a Senior Attorney to open his own practice. In 1991, he was asked to serve as Chief of the New Jersey Bureau of Securities for five years. His work at the Bureau of Securities is particularly significant, because he was the first to recognize the impact of the Internet on security fraud, founding the Internet Committee of the North American Securities Administrators Association.

Mr. Silverman's academic achievements are extensive. He earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from the Columbia School of Engineering-and Applied Science in 1963 and a Master of Science in operations research from the same institution in 1965. He then obtained a Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 1970 and a Master of Laws in international legal studies from the New York University School of Law in 1975. He is a member of the District of Columbia, New Jersey and New York Bars, as well as Federal District Courts of New Jersey; and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and Federal Court of Appeals for the Third District.

Even though his early training was in engineering, Mr. Silverman recognized there was a developing area of law in the computer industry and made the choice to study law. Among his many professional accolades, he is proud of graduating number one in his class at law school. He has worked with several organizations dedicated to fostering startup companies.

He is also devoted to civic advocacy, demonstrated by his long-term participation with the Jewish Federation of MetroWest New Jersey from 1986 to 2010. He ran for New Jersey state senator in 2001 and for the United States Congress in 2002.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Silverman enjoys writing about politics, economics and Israel. Looking ahead, he plans to continue practicing law and remains deeply committed to his clients and their innovative ventures. His dedication to both his profession and personal interests underscores a career marked by significant achievements and ongoing contributions to the field of law and beyond.

Mr. Silverman lives in New York City with his life partner, Carol Cohen. He has two children, Matthew Silverman and Helen Silverman Overstreet, and grandson, Eli Overstreet.
