Linda F. Vaughn holds a Bachelor of Music in organ performance and vocal education and a Bachelor of Arts in German from Hope College. She also earned a Master of Music and then a Master of Arts in German from the University of Illinois. She is a certified teacher, a certified life insurance producer in Illinois and a certified crochet instructor through the Craft Yarn Council.
Most of Ms. Vaughn's career has been in the field of music. She was a choir teacher for Urbana School District and a German Instructor for Danville Community College. She has also held the position of organist for a few churches in the Champaign-Urbana area, currently serving St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Champaign. She was previously an organist for Zion Lutheran Church, the Community United Church of Christ, and First Baptist Church.
She is a member of Delta Omicron, American Choral Directors Association, Delta Phi Alpha and National Genealogical Society.
One of her hobbies is crocheting and some of the items she makes use yarn produced by Jubilee Farms, Clinton, IL. Another hobby is genealogy. She has traced two branches of her family and compiled a family history booklet for each.
A recent addition to her professional life has been to become sole owner and manager of Heath & Vaughn Funeral Home, due to the death of her husband. She oversees all business operations and helps ease the burden as clients navigate the process of losing a loved one.
