During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Calderone dedicated her efforts to supporting seniors, developing a deep passion for helping this vulnerable population.
Dr. Calderone's academic journey began in Bristol England where she earned an undergraduate degree. After taking some time to travel the world, she later earned a master's degree in psychology, followed by a Doctor of Psychology in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology in California. Dr. Calderone pursued postdoctoral coursework in aging and gerontology to further specialize in her field. She also holds certifications in applied neuroscience and is a registered yoga teacher specializing in Yoga Nidra. Dr. Calderone's extensive education and certifications have played a crucial role in her ability to make significant contributions to the field of psychology and places her in a position to promote the mental well-being of the aging population.
Besides her primary career objectives, Dr. Calderone's commitment to civic engagement is evident through her founding Mindful Yoga and Meditation, a nonprofit organization promoting physical and mental well-being among older adults. Over the years, she has also volunteered at various hospice and palliative care facilities, domestic violence shelters and sexual assault treatment facilities, demonstrating her dedication to serving diverse communities.
