An energetic and passionate person, Ms. Smith Strole, her husband, Aaron, and the CAM Team, manage a vast portfolio of more than 175 commercial properties, totaling over 9 million square feet of commercial assets. Growing up in an agricultural community, Ms. Smith-Strole adopted the entrepreneurial spirit of farmers from a young age. After graduating from Arizona State University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in foreign languages, literature, and linguistics, she lived and worked in 3 different countries until deciding to return and enter the financial lending and real estate industry in Arizona. Before entering the commercial side of real estate, Ms. Smith Strole purchased 50% of a large mortgage banking company in 1993 and became a lending underwriter, working directly with HUD, FNMA, FHLMC.
While she remains passionate about the profession today, Ms. Smith Strole acknowledges that it is often outdated, relying on systems and documentation that have not changed in decades. She proudly coined the term "Dinosaur Slayers" to describe how the CAM Team is breaking out of archaic norms to offer visionary approaches for clients. She is dedicated to using CAM's influence to help build better communities, such as prioritizing sustainability and utilizing eco-friendly materials in construction projects. As a result of these business practices and her leadership, Capital Asset Management has been recognized as a Best Place to Work in Arizona and is called out for its excellent company culture and the results they produce.
