Dr. Hanson is an esteemed financial expert and representative who recently joined Transamerica. He brings over 30 years of experience as a securities broker to his role. Offering a variety of products and services to his clients, whom he strives to get to know well to help better understand their wants and needs, Dr. Hanson focuses on meeting their financial goals, whether preparing for milestone life events like college or retirement or protecting their family's future or securing disability income or long-term care insurance protection.

Besides his role at Transamerica, Dr. Hanson has been actively engaged as the chief financial officer and president of the board of LMI of San Diego, a consulting group comprising of experienced management and sustainability experts, since 2021. In this capacity, he designs courses in productivity, communication, and finance, as well as industrial certification courses and grant projects. Dr. Hanson also participates in orientation classes via Zoom calls three times a week, trains trainers, and provides financial guidance. Moreover, he has been affiliated with the Heartland Coalition in San Diego since 2001, serving as the board president. The organization was designed to build and maintain sustainable communities through economic assistance and environmental initiative support.

Dr. Hanson's early career in education with the Grossmont Union High School District was from 1970 to 1998, where he served as district grants administrator, site administrator, English department chair, and English teacher. He transitioned to the Grossmont–Cuyamaca Community College District as the district director of resource development between 1999 and 2001. Dr. Hanson's expertise in training and development was further honed during his tenure as the director of training and development at the San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council from 2001 to 2007. Furthermore, he found success as the chief financial officer for Thoryk Architecture between 2007 and 2009, where he excelled in raising funds for development projects and tracking financials.

Apart from his primary goals, Dr. Hanson remains committed to civic initiatives as the director of the Heartland YouthBuild School since 2018. He has also been affiliated with the National Council of Teachers of English. Dr. Hanson has written and published four books.

Dr. Hanson is highly educated. He received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Luther College in 1966, a Master of Arts in leadership and human behavior from Alliant International University in 1971, a Master of Arts in English and American literature from the University of California San Diego in 1984, and a Doctor of Philosophy in education with an emphasis on corporate training and finance from Claremont Graduate University in 1993. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Hanson collaborated with renowned management experts Peter Drucker and W. Edwards Deming on a project that laid the foundation for his future endeavors. He also completed fellowships at the University of California Los Angeles and the University of Michigan. Apart from his degrees, Dr. Hanson received credentials to serve as a Director of California postsecondary educational institutions through the State Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education.

Dr. Hanson's contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Heartland Coalition's Service Firm of the Year by the U.S. Department of Commerce in 2012 for facilitating job placements and annual recognition by the South Bay Workforce Investment Board for high trainee placement rates. His unwavering perseverance, altruism and continuous pursuit of knowledge have been pivotal to his success. Looking toward the future, Dr. Hanson is working on establishing green energy fiber optic programs across Northern and Southern California in addition to building manufacturing facilities to ensure an adequate supply of semiconductor chips, addressing and addressing emerging technological advancements.

Mark Hanson currently lives in San Diego Couty with his wife. His children and grandchildren live nearby.
