Ms. Gurbacki joined AllianceBernstein as an Assistant Vice President in 2019, was promoted to regulatory reporting team lead in 2022, and assumed her current roles shortly thereafter. Prior to her tenure at AllianceBernstein, she served as legal negotiator for financial services firms Goldman Sachs and UBS. Her early career included roles as a consultant in marketing and business development at Alaric Compliance Services and assistant editor for the Journal of Taxation and Regulation of Financial Institutions.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Gurbacki has made significant contributions to the legal community through her involvement in industry-related organizations. She has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 2014 and has organized panels on artificial intelligence in the derivative market space. Her dedication to transparency in legal and regulatory compliance will streamline the identification of risks in onboarding accounts, team capacity, and the effects of regulatory change on existing trading strategies. Ms. Gurbacki is also certified as registered in-house counsel with the Tennessee Bar Association.
Ms. Gurbacki's academic background includes a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas in 2006. She was an avid runner, and her journey into law was inspired by encouragement from fellow runners who were lawyers themselves, leading her to pursue a law degree and ultimately become a successful attorney dedicated to making a positive impact in her field. She also completed an internship with the Consumer Bankruptcy Project at the New York City Bar in 2013 which helped advise those struggling with consumer debt on whether to file for bankruptcy relief.
Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. Gurbacki co-chairs the employee resource group for AB Synergy Nashville at AllianceBernstein, organizing various events and professional development series such as "Allyship in the Workplace" and "Speak Up" for the members of this chapter.
