Prior to her current position, Dr. Toto was the director of new technology and clinical research in alternative medicine at Reno Consultants from 2013 to 2014. She also served as a medical consultant in occupational medicine at Itaú BBA in 2013. From 2011 until 2013, she held the position of mental health care and health administration director at FHI 360. Additionally, she was the medical director at Reno Medical Consult between 1995 and 2013.
Dr. Toto's career also includes roles such as medical doctor at Secretaria de Saúde de Campinas from 2011 to 2012 and director of mental service and health administration at Health Family Association in São Paulo during the same period. She was the director of mental health services at a mental health facility in Guarulhos, Brazil, from 2010 until 2011 and the director of business development at Omonitoto between 2004 and 2009. Earlier in her career, she served as an educational specialist at the University of Central Florida from 1998 to 2000 and engaged in clinical research at the Alfred I. duPont Institute from 1990 until 1992.
Dr. Toto's academic achievements are extensive and have greatly contributed to her professional success. She earned an MD in health sciences from the University of São Paulo in 1982 before obtaining a master's degree in medicine from Jefferson Health in 1984. In 2001, she earned a PhD from Fundação Getulio Vargas, followed by a master's degree in health care administration from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management in 2009. She subsequently earned a master's degree in oriental medicine and acupuncture from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in 2017, and she also holds a Doctor of Arts from the University of Central Florida.
Throughout her career, Dr. Toto has been recognized for her expertise and dedication. She is a member of several industry-related organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, the Brazilian Association of Psychiatry, the American Medical Association and the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Her work within the Brazilian senate advocating against illegal drugs stands out as one of her proudest achievements.
