Based in Houston, his civil engineering company specializes in geotechnical and environmental engineering, construction materials testing, construction management, and construction inspections. Since joining the team, Mr. Brown has excelled in his role, progressively acquiring the latest industry CMT training and certifications, and increasing his capacity and responsibility for a broad range of field assignments. His extensive experience working with multiple client representatives and his marked technical acumen in performing construction inspections, have been a strong asset in the advancement of the company's capabilities in construction materials testing and quality assurance.
Having begun his professional journey with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Galveston District of Texas, he succeeded as a Civil Engineer from 2003 to 2010. During his tenure, Mr. Brown led design teams, oversaw design meetings, and seamlessly coordinated project deliverables across multiple Corps' departments. Mr. Brown led a team to produce the plans and specifications on the Galveston Ship Channel Deepening Project without any amendments. Given the scope and complexity of the 13 million dollar construction project, zero design amendments was considered a rare feat in light of the Corps' history of extensive project changes. This achievement notably earned Mr. Brown recognition from the Chief of Engineering and led to the creation of an annual Engineer of the Year Award in his honor.
Following his impactful role at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mr. Brown joined Professional Service Industries Inc. (PSI) as a Project Engineer in 2012. In this capacity, he continued to demonstrate his expertise in civil engineering, performing extensive engineering analyses of a 15 plus mile long Hurricane Levee Flood Protection Project in Freeport, TX.
Mr. Brown's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003. Additionally, he holds a certificate in Biblical Studies from Abundant Life School of Ministry.
In Mr. Brown's professional life and personal interests, he believes one should follow both their passions and talents, continuously aim for excellence, and seek to expand their reach in life to positively impact the world around them. He also believes momentary setbacks are not final, and challenges can be turned into stepping stones to something bigger in life. Mr. Brown attributes his life successes to seeking mentors early in his career, his loving supportive parents of 64 years of marriage, and his personal faith.
