He currently provides on-site repair services, component level repair of electronic devices, addressing issues with machines that range from minor adjustments to complete overhauls involving gears, ball screws, motors and bearings.
Mr. Berg has been at the helm of CNC Surgeon LLC since 2022 and continues to demonstrate his expertise in troubleshooting, repairing electrical and mechanical components, retrofitting and upgrading machines, training operators and programmers and developing PLC programs. His ability to resolve complex issues has earned him a reputation for reliability and proficiency.
Concurrent with his current role, Mr. Berg is also the owner of ThomCom Services since 1995, where he has provided specialized services in electrical and electronics engineering. He also served as a service engineer at United Precision from 2021 to 2022. Before that, he was the Acu-Rite service supervisor at Heidenhain Corporation from 2020 to 2021, after spending more than 25 years contributing to the company as a service technician.
He attributes much of his success to the valuable lessons imparted to him by his father during childhood.
In recognition of his contributions to applied science, Mr. Berg received an Achievement Award for Applied Science. Additionally, he is actively involved in civic-minded organizations and is a sponsor of muscular dystrophy initiatives.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Berg enjoys spending time with his family and working on model trains, stereos and electronics. Looking ahead, he plans to expand his business by hiring more employees and contributing to the growth of the machine tool industry.
