Since establishing her company in the mid-1980s, she has examined, acknowledged, and amended suspense processing out-of-balance conditions for a large, nationwide disability insurer, studied business reporting requirements regarding payroll, purchase orders, and more, and represented individuals, businesses, and nonprofit foundations in resolving alleged unpaid Federal tax liabilities. Previously, Ms. Cooke was the director of administrative systems for Standard Life Insurance, where she oversaw all systems and procedures and led the implementation of a "Universal Life" software package that coordinated the functions of actuarial, marketing, administrative, accounting, and EDP personnel.
Early in her career, Ms. Cooke demonstrated her ability to identify and address internal control deficiencies as a systems internal control analyst for Maybelline Cosmetics. She further honed her skills as a cost and budget manager for Robertshaw Controls' Lux Time Division and as a senior accounting analyst for NLT Corporation, where she managed accounts payable and receivable, cash disbursements, the general ledger, and more.
Before establishing herself professionally, Ms. Cooke earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and economics from Austin Peay State University in 1972. Subsequently, she expanded her knowledge by becoming a fellow through the Life Management Institute and a certified public accountant.
