His work with startups, including the Black Butterfly Network, a network of Black businesses in Baltimore comprising cohorts totaling 60 companies working to support each other, exemplifies his commitment to creating access channels for startups nationwide. Additionally, Mr. Harris has been successful as the President of Cohado® Consulting since 2001, providing strategic development and diversity, equity and inclusion consulting services nationally.

Mr. Harris's career journey is marked by significant milestones. He was also the President of Collective Cry Inc. between 2001 and 2006, a Founding Partner of Fusion Partnerships Inc, a justice initiative incubator, from 1998 to 2002, and Founder of Chrysalis Consulting between 1991 and 1998. Earlier in his career, Mr. Harris was the founding Director of The Ripken Learning Center from 1990 to 1991, and Community Services Manager at The Baltimore Sun between 1988 and 1990.

Throughout his career, Mr. Harris has been involved in various projects and publications. Since 2021, he has been an Ambassador for Right to Start, advocating for entrepreneurial initiatives that support economic development and empower marginalized communities. He was on the Board of the Gutierrez Memorial Fund, supporting innovative space-making efforts from 2021 through 2023. He has also been affiliated with the Startup Champions Network since 2019, and currently serves on the Board of Directors helping solidify his influence in the startup ecosystem by establishing an inclusive environment for startups in 48 states and empowering marginalized groups such as women and people of color. Moreover, Mr. Harris was a member of the first cohort of the Buckminster Fuller Institute's Design Science Studio in 2020 along with an international community of change-makers dedicated to sustaining 100% of life.

Mr. Harris' educational background has significantly contributed to his success. In 1982, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Education with a focus on painting, drawing, metal sculpture, ceramics, and photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Mr. Harris also earned a Master of Science in Organizational Development from American University in Washington, D.C., in 2001.

Over the next few years, Mr. Harris aims to expand the ethos of Cohado®, to maximize assets and minimize waste, envisioning it as a vehicle for global unity and collaboration. He attributes his success thus far to the unwavering support from others throughout his journey.
