Mr. Renick is a prominent attorney with over 35 years of experience in his field. As the director of the Workers' Compensation Division at LaBovick Law Group in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, since 2023, he has leveraged his extensive expertise in this niche area to lead the division effectively. Additionally, Mr. Renick has maintained his private practice, the Law Office of Stephen Renick, in Homestead since 2016. As the founding attorney, he represents clients throughout the State of Florida in matters of workers' compensation, commercial collections, the Fair Labor Standards Act and general civil litigation cases in state and federal courts.
In 2005, Mr. Renick founded his own law office, where he practiced until 2008 before joining Bloom, Kinnear & Renick as an attorney until 2015. During this period, he also served as an adjunct instructor in law at Colorado Technical University from 2009 to 2010 and at Kaplan University between 2010 and 2017. Subsequently, Mr. Renick worked as an associate attorney for the Law Office of Ricardo Morales from 2015 to 2016. His early career included roles as an adjunct instructor in law at Barry University from 1988 to 1992 and at Briarcliffe College between 1992 to 1994. He also became a managing partner at the Law Office of Lucas & Renick in HOMESTEAD, FLORIDA, a position he held from 1992 to 2005.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Renick pursued an education at the University of Miami, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He was admitted to practice by the Florida Bar Association. He is also a board-certified attorney with the Florida Bar and a member of the Federal Bar for the Southern District of Florida, a certified mediator in circuit court civil and family law by the Florida State Supreme Court, and holds workers' compensation board certification from the Florida Bar Association. Additionally, Mr. Renick is an ordained minister.
Besides his full-time endeavors, Mr. Renick is a member of Florida Workers' Advocates, an organization comprising civil justice attorneys dedicated to representing injured workers in Florida. Civically, he has been deeply involved in mentoring future legal professionals. He coached the undergraduate mock trial team at the Patti and Allan Herbert Business School at the University of Miami during the 2006-2007 academic year. He also coached high school mock trial teams for over two decades, including South Dade Senior High between 1995 and 2010 and Terra Environmental Research Institute from 2011 to 2019. Mr. Renick's teams notably won numerous regional championships and two state championships. He now is on the Florida High School Mock Trial Executive Committee, and has been the author of the Florida High School Mock trial case materials for the last five years.
