He also served as the AMG automation division manager at Husco between 2013 and 2018, where he honed his skills in managing complex automation projects at multiple international locations. From 2010 to 2013, Mr. Mahan was the business unit manager at BE Aerospace, formerly EMTEQ.
His early career began with a strong foundation in engineering roles. He was a mechanical designer at Walker Stainless Steel from 2001 to 2003 and as a mechanical designer at Wolf Appliance Company in 2003. Additionally, he succeeded as an engineering project lead at DE Smith in 2003, as a design engineer at John Deere in 2004, as a senior project engineer at S&S Cycle Inc. from 2004 to 2007, and as a senior product designer at Generac Power Systems between 2007 and 2010.
In addition to his civilian career, he served his community as a foster parent with the support of his wife Krista for eight years from 2014-2022 for the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families and the U.S. Army Reserves from 1999 to 2008 as an 11B infantryman and a 21T technical engineering specialist. His military service provided him with valuable technical skills and discipline that have been instrumental in his professional achievements.
Mr. Mahan holds a Bachelor of Science in project management from Capella University and an Associate of Science in mechanical engineering from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. He has also earned certifications as an engineering specialist from Fort Leonard Wood Army Base and in mechanical engineering-related technologies from the University of Wisconsin Platteville.
He has been recognized throughout his career for his innovative contributions with U.S. patents for a light fixture assembly US 20120162994 and a compression release mechanism US 20100077980. His dedication to hard work and passion for engineering have been critical factors in his success.
In light of his professional success, He received an Editor's Choice Award for Most Innovative Product by Popular Mechanics in 2009. His civic commitments have also been recognized with a Member of the Year award from the Mercedes-Benz Club of America in 2020.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Mahan is actively involved in various civic organizations. He serves as the regional president of the Porsche Club of America and is a Mercedes-Benz Club of America director. Furthermore, He participates in numerous charitable activities, including the Drive for Babies event with March of Dimes, monthly contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, and local charity foundations in Fulton County.
