In addition to his role at Proton International LLC, Mr. Bowers is an inventor, author, professional artist, entrepreneur, farmer, former diplomat, and national security expert. He is a co-founder of Partners in Healthcare Technology, and the founder and owner of several entrepreneurial ventures. Virginia Fig Farm, established by Mr. Bowers in 2020, is a small-scale coastal farming operation focused on growing best-quality Violet de Bordeaux, Black Jack, Desert King, Celeste, LSU Purple, Peter's Honey, Lattarula, Olympia, Beers Black, Chicago Hardy, and Brown Turkey figs. Coffee Art, founded in 2019, produces original artwork for the Crossroads Art Gallery in Richmond, VA, for numerous art publications, and for Hollywood films. Whisper Grass LLC., also established in 2019, is a real estate investment and development company. While no longer a practicing attorney, Mr. Bowers has been a Washington D.C. Bar Association member since 2009. He was a Foreign Service Officer with the United States Diplomatic Service, and later a highly-decorated senior official in the Central Intelligence Agency. His foundational experience was in the military, serving as a civilian with U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
Mr. Bowers' academic credentials include a Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi. Through a variety of executive education programs, Charles has also studied Accounting and Finance through Harvard Business School, Project Management through Cornell's Department of Engineering, and Management at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bowers has embraced challenges as opportunities for personal and professional growth. He believes that human capacity for skills acquisition and for knowledge transfer is enhanced through exposure to stress and complexity.
