GLEN BURNIE, MD, October 01, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathy Lally-Beares has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Lally-Beares is a distinguished professional in the field of nonprofit management, currently serving as the vice president of field operations at After-School All-Stars. In this role, she supports executive directors and their respective chapters across 19 cities in the United States. Her responsibilities include coaching, supervising and working with local advisory boards on strategic planning for program development. She also oversees evaluation and impact work, data collection and the program's commitment to quality. Under her leadership, the organization has embedded its theory of change into all activities, significantly enhancing its operational effectiveness.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Lally-Beares joined After-School All-Stars in 2019 as a regional executive director before being promoted in 2024. Before this, she was the vice president of growth and impact at Communities In Schools National Office from 2015 to 2019. During her tenure there, she played a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support to students, which was inspired by her own positive experiences with similar programs during her academic career.

Between 2011 and 2015, Ms. Lally-Beares served as the deputy executive director at Data Quality Campaign, where she focused on improving data quality in education systems. Previously, she was the director of the Office of Out of School Time at the District of Columbia Public Schools from 2010 until 2011. Her earlier career includes serving as the executive director of Montgomery County Collaboration Council for Children, Youth and Families from 2002 to 2010 and the associate director of child advocacy at the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions from 1999 until 2002.

Laying the groundwork for Ms. Lally-Beares's professional achievements was her academic background. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government from the University of Connecticut in 1989, followed by a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University, which she obtained in 1993. She also acquired a Prosci Change Management Certification in 2014 and is a member of the Afterschool Alliance. She attributes her success to hard work, perseverance and the support of mentors and intelligent individuals who have become her great friends over time.

Ms. Lally-Beares is immensely proud of how After-School All-Stars responded during the COVID-19 pandemic. She supported her colleagues and organizational leaders through the challenges of the pandemic and was able to help the organization pivot to virtual programs within a week. Although there were initial fears that the organization would have to close, it emerged even more prominent. It is now an $84 million enterprise, serving over 150,000 students across the country.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Lally-Beares is actively involved in civic organizations. She is a supporter of the Humane Rescue Alliance and sponsors two children in Africa. She is also a member of the Friendly Daughters of St. Patrick of Maryland. Her contributions have been recognized with the Rising Star Award from Montgomery Women.

Looking ahead, Ms. Lally-Beares is focused on seeing the results of After-School All-Stars' recently launched Theory of Change and its evaluation and impact plan. Her main goal is to collect necessary information to improve processes and demonstrate the organization's impact. Ultimately, she aims to leverage these insights to raise more resources and start her own consulting firm to help other nonprofits achieve similar success in the years to come.
