Before stepping into his latest role in 2024, Mr. Finkelstein began his successful career in the legal field as a summer associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP in 2020, a law clerk for the firm from 2021 to 2021 and an associate attorney in 2022. He also found success as an associate attorney at Kirkland & Ellis between 2022 and 2024. Mr. Finkelstein's early legal experience included an internship with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement division in 2019.
Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. Finkelstein served in the U.S. Navy from 2015 to 2016. He was an E-3 trainee for the Navy SEAL Selection Program (BUD/S) but his journey was ended by injuries. After multiple surgeries, he demonstrated resilience by transitioning to a career in law and later entrepreneurship. His military service also included a role as a historical researcher for the Naval Special Warfare Command, focusing on Vietnam's after-action reports.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Finkelstein found success as a local football coach. He also worked as a supplemental macroeconomics and American government instructor at Becker College and was an expansion fellow with the Food Recovery Network.
Mr. Finkelstein's educational background includes a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from Northwestern University in 2021. He was admitted to practice by the New York State Bar Association.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Finkelstein is actively involved in civic organizations. As the chair of his nonprofit organization, El Puente Gratis Inc., he aims to provide the underprivileged access to online retailers like Amazon and Walmart through groundbreaking technology that allows individuals without bank accounts or credit cards to make online purchases. This innovative company transforms how billions of people shop online by integrating off-grid money into the digital economy. The initiative also makes items more affordable for consumers, increases vendor sales, and generates bank revenue through processing fees. Besides his work with El Puente Gratis Inc., Mr. Finkelstein is active with Rotary International.
Outside of his career, Mr. Finkelstein aims to expand his collectible company and nonprofit further. His vision also includes implementing advanced technologies, such as cash reception equipment integrated with accounting systems and running an extensive internship program. With regulatory approval, Mr. Finkelstein plans to extend operations nationwide and eventually globally. He is available to serve on investment fund boards as an alternative investment expert.
