She began as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician Assistant in 2014 before pivoting into the role of Spine Surgery Physician Assistant in 2018 and then as Lead Non-Operative Advanced Practice Provider from 2022 to 2023. Mrs. Van Sickle also served as a Physician Assistant for CareNow during this tenure between 2020 and 2022 to help with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mrs. Van Sickle's earlier career included Physician Assistant roles at Rocky Mountain Pediatric Orthopedics & Spine from 2008 to 2011 and Exempla Neurologic & Spine from 2011 to 2014. She also moonlighted at MedExpress Urgent Care between 2011 and 2012. She also worked as a Physician Assistant and Clinic Manager at Advanced Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine between 2016 and 2018.
In preparation for her career, Mrs. Van Sickle received a Bachelor of Science in pre-medicine from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2004, where she was also on scholarship with the Cross Country and Track & Field Teams for five years and a walk-on for the Women's Basketball team for one year. She furthered her education by earning a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies from Stony Brook University in 2008 in Stony Brook, New York. Mrs. Van Sickle holds several certifications that underscore her professional capabilities. She is a certified Physician Assistant with NCCPA. She previously was also a national medical examiner. She has gained extra training and certificates from Worldlink Medical for hormone optimization. Her dedication to continuous learning and professional development is evident through these credentials.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Van Sickle is an active American Academy of Physician Assistants member and serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants. Her commitment to civic engagement is demonstrated through her volunteer work with Handfuls of Hope Inc., where she contributes her time and expertise to support third world community initiatives with Medical Mission Trips. She is also a Co-Chair of her local Women's Ministry at Novation Church.
