Dr. Brown's career began at Norwalk Hospital, where he worked with primary care and various specialties to provide client consultation liaison services. He later became a Group Medical Director for Prudential Insurance Company in New Jersey. His expertise led him to join the staff at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Rutgers University Law School. Over a 20-year tenure as a volunteer faculty member at Rutgers law and medical schools, Dr. Brown retired as a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, having educated an entire generation of medical and law students without compensation.

In addition to his role at Rutgers, Dr. Brown served as the Chief Psychiatric Consultant for Connecticut's Department of Children and Youth Services, where he was responsible for training many child abuse workers in the state and northeastern regions.

Dr. Brown has held numerous leadership roles in both clinical and administrative settings. He served as a Chief Executive Officer for Quality Health International and The Hospital Planning and Rescue Company. Furthermore, he was the Executive Vice President of MedSonics U.S. Inc. and co-founded Cogent Systems Inc., where he also served as the Medical Director.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with High Distinction and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester in 1967. He then obtained a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1971, where he was awarded the Bennett Prize in Political Science in 1971, followed by his pursuit of an MD from Stanford University School of Medicine, in 1973, where he earned multiple honors including the Stanford Alumni Association Award. Then he attended Yale Law School and completed a residency in psychiatry at Yale Medical School, where he was awarded the Seymour Lustman Research Award.

Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has been recognized with numerous awards, underscoring his exceptional leadership potential and academic excellence. He was a finalist for the White House Fellowship and received notable academic honors, including the Stanford Medical Alumni Association Award and the Dean Alway Award from Stanford Medical School. His contributions to medicine and behavioral science were further recognized with the Russell Sage Fellowship at Stanford.

In addition to his numerous accolades, Dr. Brown is a prolific author with over 200 fiction and non-fiction publications, including articles, books, and presentations. His notable contributions include co-authoring "Litigating Brain Injuries," released in 2023, and "Emotional Injuries," which explore the complex intersections of psychiatry and litigation.

Dr. Brown's commitment to public service is evident through his involvement with many organizations over the years including the American Orthopsychiatric Association, the Academy of Medicine of New Jersey and the American Neuropsychiatric Association. Moreover, he is affiliated with the North American Brain Injury Society and the American Psychiatric Association.

A Brooklyn native, Dr. Brown is passionate about traveling, writing, consulting, and volunteering. Despite his recent retirement, he is enthusiastic about continuing to make significant contributions through his consulting work and volunteering.
