San Diego Sports Acupuncture specializes in treating acute and chronic pain. Mr. Davis focuses on working with patients to treat chronic and acute injuries, sprains, strains, whiplash, work-related injuries, muscle imbalances and postural asymmetries. He also works alongside two experienced team members who are highly educated in the field, including Dr. Uzi Chen, a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) and a Licensed Acupuncturist who is Certified in Sports Medicine Acupuncture, as well as TJ Morton, a Licensed Acupuncturist and certified yoga teacher presently working towards his Certification in Sports Medicine Acupuncture.
Mr. Davis first became interested in Chinese Medicine after being treated for chronic back pain by a friend with whom he studied Traditional Chinese martial arts. As the back pain reduced, he realized the treatments were also decreasing his stress which was allowing him to communicate more effectively with others. Upon graduating from university, he began working as a sound engineer for live shows and concerts in Los Angeles, but he faced a challenging work environment marked with long hours and often surrounded by people with substance abuse disorders. During this time, he dreamed of moving back to San Diego to continue studying Chinese Martial Arts and Chinese Medicine. A severe motorcycle accident abruptly catalyzed this transition and Mr. Davis found himself, once again, on the road to recovery, but this time with a path towards becoming a healer so he could help others, as well.
During his 4 years at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, Mr. Davis spent 2 of those years assisting at his mentor's clinic, already becoming proficient with the approach and techniques of Sports Medicine Acupuncture before formally attending the Certification seminars to receive his Sports Medicine Acupuncture Certification.
A graduate of the University of California San Diego, Mr. Davis obtained a Bachelor of Science in cognitive science with a specialization in neuroscience in 2006. Subsequently, he received a Master of Science in traditional oriental medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2011. Additionally, Mr. Davis completed the sports medicine acupuncture certification series and received certification in sports medicine acupuncture.
Mr. Davis is involved with various industry-related organizations, such as the California State Oriental Medical Association.
As a testament to Mr. Davis's success, San Diego Sports Acupuncture Inc. has been recognized as the number one acupuncture clinic in San Diego. He attributes much of his success to the influence he received from his parents while coming of age. Eager for the future of his business, Mr. Davis envisions continued growth and success at his thriving business and possibly stepping into a leadership role in the Sports Medicine Acupuncture Certification Series Program and taking on teaching responsibilities. Moreover, he remains committed to addressing the political challenges facing the acupuncture profession. He advocates for fair compensation for acupuncturists and aims to change regulations that would allow acupuncturists to treat seniors on Medicare.
