He has contributed significantly to academic literature as associate editor, technical editor and reviewer for multiple journals and has authored over 80 conference and journal publications.
KATY, TX, October 07, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Anand S. Nagoo has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Nagoo is a multidisciplinary engineer and distinguished expert in petroleum and chemical process engineering, specializing in the field of analytical modeling of multiphase flows in wellbores, pipelines and variable-area flow components (constrictions, expansions and combinations thereof). As the president of Nagoo & Associates LLC, he has dedicated the past six years to creating high-fidelity, science-based, digitally disruptive analytical tools and software codes aimed at significantly improving field-scale multiphase wellbore, pipeline and flow component predictions. With more than 25 years of professional experience, he has made pioneering contributions to his field, including creating the world's first unified analytical model of multiphase flow in closed conduits – the Pipe Fractional Flow Theory – an averaged-equations breakthrough in the history of the subject avoiding the need for small-or-large-scale lab experiments providing empirical closures or the need for artificial (i.e., not directly measurable) multiphase flow variables. Additionally, Dr. Nagoo has gathered the world's largest multidisciplinary database of independently accessible, cross-referable, published multiphase flow lab and field datasets.
Dr. Nagoo's career began as a junior wireline logging field engineer at Schlumberger in 1998. He subsequently was a projects engineer at Trinidad and Tobago's national oil company, Petrotrin, in 2001, and a reservoir and production engineer at bp Trinidad & Tobago from 2003 to 2006. In 2007, he joined Innovative Petroleum Services as a reservoir simulation engineer before moving to Pioneer Natural Resources in 2008 performing hydrocarbon phase behavior modeling and bp Houston in 2009 performing NAG liquids loading and integrated asset modeling studies. His tenure in near-wellbore modeling and simulator-testing at Halliburton followed in 2010. From 2007 to 2018, he also served as a research associate at the University of Texas at Austin leading the multiphase flow research group. During this period, he cofounded a multiphase flow visualization company, Pipe Fractional Flow LLC, and served as its chief executive officer from 2014 to 2018. Since 2018, he has been leading his second company Nagoo & Associates LLC as president and chief architect of the Multiphase Analytical Prediction Engine (MAPe) software and serving as an adjunct lecturer in subsea engineering at the University of Houston since 2021.
In addition to his primary roles, Dr. Nagoo has been actively involved with several professional organizations. He has been a program committee member for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition and chair for the Projects, Facilities and Construction division since 2022. He also serves on the SPE Nominations and Awards Committee for Production and Facilities Discipline and is a feature editor for the SPE's flagship Journal of Petroleum Technology in the field of Natural Gas Processing and Handling. His other affiliations include associate editor and outstanding technical editor for the SPE Journal of Production and Operations, membership on the International Technical Committee for the International Conference on Oil, Gas and Coal Technology since 2020 and membership on the International Scientific Advisory Board for Multiphase Flow at the bi-annual International Multiphase Flow Conference hosted by the Wessex Institute of Technology since 2018.
Dr. Nagoo's academic background is extensive and impressive. He earned a bachelor's degree in Indian classical music specializing in Khayal singing from the Bharatiya Vidya Sansthhaan in 1996 and a bachelor's degree with honors in mechanical engineering specializing in engineering design from the University of the West Indies in 1998. He obtained a master's degree specializing in natural gas engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 2003 and another master's degree specializing in petroleum engineering from Stanford University in 2006, followed by a doctorate in chemical engineering specializing in multiphase flow from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013. He attributes his success to grit, determination and his cumulative education, which he pursued through full graduate research, departmental and presidential scholarships.
Known worldwide for creating the Pipe Fractional Flow Theory, Dr. Nagoo complements his professional achievements through his multi-tiered involvement with various industry-related organizations such as the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the International Society of Petroleum Engineers. He has also contributed significantly to academic literature as associate editor, technical editor and reviewer for multiple journals and has authored over 80 conference and journal publications.
A recipient of numerous scholarships, Dr. Nagoo is also committed to civic service and serves as a Stanford University ambassador and alumni interviewer in the Houston area for the undergraduate admissions department. In his personal life, he enjoys teaching engineering and architecture courses in the Katy ISD district and spending time with his family.
Looking ahead, Dr. Nagoo is building revolutionary multiphase flow production optimization and artificial lift simulation technologies. He is also working on the Production HunterTM suite of simulation software and iPhone apps and the Digital Fluid LevelTM app for his third company, Production Hunter LLC. Through these endeavors, he aims to continue growing professionally while making significant field-focused contributions to the petroleum and chemical process industries.
