Before joining The Andersons Inc., Mr. Bowe was a corporate vice president at Cargill Inc. from 2007 to 2015. In this capacity, he oversaw various business units and drove strategic initiatives. Mr. Bowe also demonstrated prolific leadership as the president of Corn Wet Milling North America at Cargill between 1997 and 2007, where he focused on processing corn into products like high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, starch, and ethanol. His technical development efforts led to establishing large-scale plants that created customer value and generated employment opportunities. Mr. Bowe's career at Cargill began in 1992 and later was named as the vice president and general manager of Corn Wet Milling. He held this position until 1999, during which time he honed his expertise in the industry.
Highly educated, Mr. Bowe was a collegiate football player at Stanford University where he was selected as D1 first team Academic All-American. He received a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Master of Arts in economics at Stanford in 1980 and 1983, respectively. Mr. Bowe's education has been pivotal in his ability to achieve growth while prioritizing the ethical treatment of individuals. His focus on technical development and his international experience has also been integral to his success.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Bowe is highly engaged in civic organizations. He has been a Toledo Symphony Orchestra board member under the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts since 2017 where he served as Chairman from 2020-2022. His other affiliations include serving on the board of directors for the Toledo Museum of Art, participating in philanthropy work focused on early childhood education and feeding children in the community. Previously, Mr. Bowe was instrumental as a board member and finance committee chair for the Minnesota Orchestra from 2009 to 2014. He also chaired the board at Fabcon Precast between 2008 and 2015 and was a board member and risk and finance committee chair for Schwan's Shared Services LLC from 2009 to 2015. He currently serves on the board of King Ranch.
