In addition to her civilian career, Ms. Velasco served as a military police officer in the California Army National Guard from 2010 to 2018 with the 670thMP Company in National City, CA. Ms. Velasco is recognized for her expertise in the luxury, multi-family, student living, commercial, and active adult design sectors. In 2021, Ms. Velasco started a passion project with her long-time friend and now business partner, Nicole Hough. Together, they have created a wine importing business called Spain To CA, where they import the Spanish Experience from Spain to California. The business focuses on luxury corporate and holiday gifting, a need she found in her personal life that turned into a profitable solution.
Born in the Bay Area as a first-generation Mexican-American, Ms. Velasco enjoys traveling and spending time with loved ones. Inspired by her grandfather, Juvenal Ornelas, she attributes her success to hard work, persistence, and unwavering tenacity. She remains motivated to achieve great things for her family.
