Specializing in the implementation of rapid microbial testing in biotechnology, she is responsible for evaluating various consumer and pharmaceutical products for different customers and entities, as well as ensuring the safety of consumer and personal care products before their distribution on the market.
Initially serving as a senior technologist at Charles River in 2017, Ms. Romeo subsequently advanced to the role of team lead and supervisor within Celsis Technical Service in 2020, after which she assumed her current position in 2022. She previously worked at Aucera (formerly Dial America), where she distinguished herself as a verification specialist, coaching specialist and quality assurance specialist between 2013 and 2019.
Outside of her career path, Ms. Romeo has earned distinction as an advocate for mental health. Having dealt with pervasive mental and emotional abuse throughout her life, she is proud to have redefined herself as a stalwart champion for those suffering from similar circumstances. In addition to her primary duties at Charles River, she works closely with the company's Emotional Health and Wellness employee resource group, as well as Dragon Boat Charleston, a cancer survivor advocacy event that Charles River sponsors. Ms. Romeo is also an up-and-coming actor and model, with previous experience as a background actor in "The Righteous Gemstones."
Ms. Romeo first studied biology at Charleston Southern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 2017 and a Master of Science in 2024. With extensive experience in mammalian cell culture, study design and execution, she remains actively involved in cancer research at the university, and is currently focused on the subject of colorectal adenocarcinoma.
