NORTHFIELD, MN, October 10, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ellen H. Saul, MS, LP, CST-T, SEP, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Saul is a distinguished licensed psychologist with her own private practice, Ellen H. Saul, MS, LP. With a career spanning over three decades, she has become an expert in numerous disciplines, including developmental psychology, child development, mental health psychotherapy, and trauma therapy. Among her current focus areas is providing Kalffian Sandplay Therapy to children and adults as well as consulting and teaching on the fundamentals, theory, and practice of Sandplay therapy. She is also teaching and speaking about her recent book, From Pain to Power: Seven Steps to Healthy Boundaries.

Ms. Saul's professional journey began as a therapist at Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in 1987. She became a licensed psychologist in 1992. In 2001, she branched out to establish Ellen Saul & Associates, where she draws on her extensive training in Kalffian Sandplay Therapy, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and In Touch Again: play therapy strategies for repairing attachment wounds.

Highly credentialed, Ms. Saul's academic background laid a strong foundation for her career. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in pre-medicine from Mackinac College in 1970 and later obtained a master's degree in community counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1990. She is a certified sandplay therapist/teaching member (CST-T) with Sandplay Therapists of America (STA) and the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST). She holds an EMDR Level 2 certificate and is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).

Ms. Saul's passion for psychology was ignited during her college years when she took a psychology class at Mackinac College and subsequently became a teaching assistant. This experience deepened her understanding of the subject and led her to work at Dr. Bruno Bettelheim's Orthogenic School in Chicago after graduation. After starting a family and seeing her children off to school, she decided to pursue her passion by returning to school for her master's degree and becoming a licensed psychologist.

Ms. Saul attributes her success to the influential adults in her life who emphasized continual learning and forming connections with people worldwide. As a cornerstone of her own professional practice, she prioritizes creating clear boundaries for herself rather than attempting to change others' behavior. While many individuals may fear that setting boundaries will result in conflicts or adverse consequences, she has personally learned the benefits to maintaining healthy boundaries for the mental health and life satisfaction of all parties involved.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Saul is actively involved in civic-minded organizations. She has served on the Board of Sandplay Therapists of America and the Board of In Touch Again, Inc. In her national and international teaching, she offers low or no-cost options to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her contributions have been recognized with Sandplay Therapists of America's Mentoring Award in 2024.

Ms. Saul is also an accomplished author, having written From Pain to Power: Seven Steps to Healthy Boundaries (2024) and articles in various professional journals. She has produced an audiobook version of her work as well. Her future goals include spreading the empowering message of From Pain to Power globally by translating it into various languages and encouraging its incorporation into everyday life through body awareness, changing boundary beliefs and behaviors, and celebrating each positive change.
