RALEIGH, NC, October 10, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ryan McCollum has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. McCollum's career began with his admission to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he was a collegiate rugby player and earned a Bachelor of Science in philosophy in 2014. Following his graduation, he was commissioned into the Infantry and served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. The highlight of Mr. McCollum's military career was leading a platoon of paratroopers in Northern Iraq in support of the 2017 Battle of Mosul. He later served as a platoon leader in the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and represented The Old Guard in the 2019 Best Ranger Competition.
Following his service, Mr. McCollum received a Doctor of Jurisprudence, magna cum laude, in the top 10 of his graduating class from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 2022. At Campbell University, he was the editor-in-chief of the Law Review and interned at the U.S. Attorneys' Offices from 2020 to 2021.
Mr. McCollum is a distinguished litigation attorney at Whitley Law Firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is responsible for drafting lawsuits in both state and federal courts, constructing legal arguments for hearings and trial, and most importantly-zealously advocating for his clients from beginning to end of the litigation process. Mr. McCollum's practice covers the full spectrum of personal injury claims-from car accidents and medical malpractice, to toxic exposure and mass tort claims.
Mr. McCollum is an active member of several professional organizations, including the legal affairs committee of North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the Wake County Bar Association. He recently completed a fellowship through North Carolina Advocates for Justice's NEXT program, which is designed to train and highlight emerging leaders among North Carolina's civil plaintiff and criminal defense attorneys. Civically, he is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars where he continues to serve fellow combat veterans.
Mr. McCollum attributes much of his success to his strong work ethic, which he developed while growing up in a blue collar community in Northeastern Ohio.
