Mr. Moulton is an accomplished law enforcement professional with over 25 years of experience, currently serving as the chief investigator for the Houston County Sheriff's Office. In this role, he supervises the criminal investigations division, the narcotics investigations division, the property and evidence rooms, and the crime scene and digital forensic unit. His career has been marked by numerous achievements, particularly in narcotics investigation, where his expertise in conducting major case investigations involving wiretaps has led to significant successes.

Mr. Moulton began his career as a patrol officer with the Warner Robins Police Department from 2000 to 2013. During this time, he honed his skills in public safety and leadership. He then transitioned to the Georgia Public Safety Training Center as a public safety instructor from 2013 until 2014, where he became a Georgia POST-certified public safety instructor with specialized certifications in firearms, defensive tactics and driver training.

In 2014, Mr. Moulton joined the Houston County Sheriff's Office as a narcotics investigator. Over the next eight years, he gained specialized training in conducting and managing Title III wiretap investigations using the Advanced Digital Audio Collection System by SyTech Corporation. One of his most notable accomplishments was the successful shutdown of a drug organization linked to a cartel in Mexico, resulting in the prosecution of 19 members who received substantial prison sentences.

In 2022, Mr. Moulton was promoted to investigations lieutenant at the Houston County Sheriff's Office, where he continued to demonstrate his leadership and investigative skills. He currently holds the title of captain in the criminal investigations division. Additionally, he is a master instructor in the Georgia Public Safety Resiliency Program and Fair and Impartial Policing.

A commitment to continuous education has been instrumental in Mr. Moulton's professional success. After he obtained his diploma from Central High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice with a focus on law enforcement administration from College of the Ozarks in 1998. He subsequently earned a Master of Public Administration from Georgia College & State University in 2008.

Throughout his career, Mr. Moulton has been actively involved in several industry-related organizations, including the Peace Officers Association of Georgia, the Georgia Narcotics Officers' Association, the Police Benevolent Association, the Tennessee Narcotic Officers Association and the Florida Narcotic Officers' Association. He is also a member of the Public Administration Honor Society and the Fraternal Order of Police. His dedication to excellence in law enforcement has earned him several awards, including the Joseph Whitehead Award from the Georgia Narcotics Officers' Association in 2023 and the Police Officer of the Year Award in 2001.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Moulton is dedicated to his community through his involvement with Southside Baptist Church and his efforts as a youth leader for the student high school ministry. His commitment to mentorship reflects his belief in compassion and empathy as essential qualities for impactful leadership.

Mr. Moulton's remarkable success can be attributed to his unwavering dedication to education and the influence of key mentors throughout his life. His grandparents played an instrumental role in raising him after his parents' divorce, instilling values of integrity and perseverance. Additionally, his high school football coach Barney Hester taught him resilience and determination, while Sheriff Cullen Talton emphasized compassionate leadership.

Mr. Moulton is running as the republican candidate for sheriff in one of Georgia's largest counties, and if elected in November, will be sworn in on January 1, 2025 as Houston County Georgia's sixth sheriff. This impending election is poised to become the pinnacle of his career, where he will aim to further develop the sheriff's office and bridge the gap between society and law enforcement by fostering open communication.
