Spending the majority of his career at Allstate Insurance Company, his journey is marked by a series of progressive leadership roles, culminating in his retirement from serving as senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer. In this capacity, he was responsible for financial reporting and related internal controls and systems.
Leading up to his retirement, Mr. Pintozzi championed accounting special projects while ensuring a smooth transition to his successor. Prior to these roles, he was the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Allstate Investments from 2012 to 2019. In this role, he played a pivotal part in a substantial system overhaul and was an active member of the investment committee. He also improved information available to inform decisions and supported initiatives to increase the allocation to private assets, representing a significant shift in the portfolio mix.
Between 2005 and 2012, Mr. Pintozzi served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Allstate Financial. During this period, he helped initiate successful divestiture activity that rationalized the product portfolio and distribution channels to increase profitability in the life and annuity business. He also served as the executive sponsor of Allstate's employee impact groups for over 10 years and was an early advocate for inclusive diversity and equity. He began his tenure at Allstate Insurance Company as a finance vice president from 2002 to 2005 after working his way to audit partner at Deloitte from 1987 to 2002.
Mr. Pintozzi's academic background includes a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago in 1997 and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Northern Illinois University in 1987. Soon after his formal education, he achieved the third highest grade on the state of Illinois Certified Public Accountant exam. Throughout his career, Mr. Pintozzi has been an active member of business-related organizations, such as The Economic Club of Chicago. He is also dedicated to various civic-minded organizations, serving as a board member for the Chicago Architecture Foundation since 2008 and board chair for 8 years, in addition to the board of trustees of the Goodman Theatre and the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Pintozzi enjoys traveling, photography, playing tennis, attending live theater and music events and cooking. Looking ahead, he envisions staying actively engaged with his nonprofit boards while seeking new opportunities to contribute to society. He enrolled in the culinary program at Kendall College shortly after retirement and is exploring the Leadership and Society Initiative at the University of Chicago and the Distinguished Careers Institute at Stanford. These programs cater to retired executives and provide them with means to contemplate their post-business careers while addressing broader societal issues, such as racial equality and social justice.
