Prior to founding Nolita, Ms. Gilreath served as the executive chef at The Chicory House. Her tenure there was marked by her innovative approach to cuisine and leadership in the kitchen. Her experience in the restaurant industry dates back to when she was 16 years old and has provided her with a wealth of knowledge and expertise, which she continues to leverage in her current role. Ms. Gilreath holds an associate degree from the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute (NOCHI), where she graduated as valedictorian.
Ms. Gilreath's talents have been recognized through several awards, including a gold medal for pastry at the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience in 2021. In addition, she has been a multiple-time recipient of the Top 10 King Cake List, further cementing her reputation as a leading pastry chef. In all she has pursued and accomplished in the culinary world, Ms. Gilreath attributes her accomplishments to doing the right thing, which has guided her throughout her career.
Beyond her primary professional involvement, Ms. Gilreath has remained actively involved with her school, which has provided her with invaluable opportunities and mentorship. Specifically, she participates in Cooking for a Cause at NOCHI. To support the larger community, she engages with numerous homeless outreach organizations. When she is not in the kitchen, Ms. Gilreath relishes in her passion for sports, particularly following Louisiana football, and enjoys reading, fishing and traveling. She hopes to have her cookies featured at the Super Dome, and she continues to strive for Nolita to be a welcoming space where all feel accepted and can create lasting memories.
