Her role involves launching these products and educating internal staff, clients and brokers about them. Ms. Scott's career began at The Standard Insurance Company, where she initially worked as a disability benefits processor in 2006. Her dedication and performance quickly led to her being hired full-time after just three weeks as a temporary employee. Over the years, she advanced through various roles at the company from 2006 to 2021, including associate disability benefits analyst, disability benefits analyst, marketing product manager II, director of product and service management, director of business relations and agile product manager for claims.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Scott has participated in various interviews and provided valuable guidance during her time at The Standard Insurance Company. She has presented during highly attended webinars and spoken at multiple disability management employer coalition conferences, focusing on education in the absence management space. Furthermore, her work has been featured in various publications, where she has contributed to discussions on integrated absence management, covering topics from disability insurance to compliance education and the impacts of absence management on other lines of coverage.
Ms. Scott's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in public relations and image management from the University of Oregon, which she earned in 2005. She also holds several certifications that have bolstered her expertise, such as Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner, Product Manager from Scaled Agile Inc., Certified Scrum Product Owner and Fellow Life Management Institute from Life Office Management Association.
Ms. Scott is also an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the Portland Association of Health Underwriters as a content manager, the Disability Management Employer Coalition and the American Council of Life Insurers. Outside of her professional life, Ms. Scott is civically involved with Boys and Girls Aid of Oregon.
