She was quickly recruited to build a marketing and proposal department from the ground up for a new division of Tetra Tech, a global architecture-engineering-construction (AEC) firm. She went on to lead marketing and proposal teams for powerhouse AEC firms like Dewberry, Louis Berger (now WSP), Burns & McDonnell, and TY Lin. Given her vast knowledge and industry presence, Ms. Macomber has served as a presenter at various industry conferences, sharing insights on proposal best practices, branding, the power of storytelling, and growth strategies. Her corporate experience, plus her tenure as the global board chair of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), honed her leadership skills and prepared her for business ownership.
As a former Division I college athlete, Krystn's competitive spirit and drive are evident in everything she does. She is no stranger to facing challenges head-on with a growth mindset to achieve success—an energy that shines through in her work, inspiring with expert insight and strategic insights. In 2021, Krystn was inducted into the Clyde A. Erwin High School Hall of Fame for her successful athletic career as an award-winning basketball and volleyball star.
An expert in her field, Ms. Macomber holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and marketing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an MBA, and multiple marketing and proposal certifications through organizations like APMP. In addition to her professional and educational endeavors, Ms. Macomber is a member of the Entrepreneur's Organization and is on the board of the advisory group of several local educational institutions.
Ms. Macomber's outstanding achievements have been recognized and celebrated numerous times. In addition to recognition from various previous employers, Ms. Macomber was named Micro-Entrepreneur of the Year by the Small Business Administration (SBA) Orange County/Inland Empire District Office in 2024.
