Previously, she was the manager of clinical documentation integrity at the University of California Davis from 2020 to 2021, where she managed a $8.4 billion budget to stabilize revenue and growth, and the senior manager of clinical documentation integrity at Providence St. Joseph Health System/Shared Services from 2015 to 2020, where she modernized the denial process, established CDI physician documentation educator programs, and increased physician engagement and financial stability. Her career also included roles as a CDI and health information management consultant at MedPartners from 2013 to 2015 and the director of health information management at Jennings American Legion from 2010 to 2013. Earlier in her career, Ms. Parker was a health information management director and privacy officer at South Park Hospital from 2007 to 2010.
Highly educated, Ms. Parker received a Bachelor of Science in health information management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2003 and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2009. She also earned a clinical documentation integrity outpatient micro-credential in 2024 and a risk adjustment coding micro-credential in 2023, of which she was co-author, of the exam, from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Additionally, she is a registered health information administrator and certified documentation improvement practitioner, and she holds a basic life support for health care providers certification from the American Heart Association.
Ms. Parker's contributions to the health care sector are notable. She was pivotal in developing operational strategies that resulted in substantial cost savings exceeding $500,000 in the denials management program she spearheaded in the acute inpatient setting, as well as savings of $2 million in the ambulatory physician-patient care setting. Likewise, her achievements include optimizing financial processes and fostering collaboration within the health care sector to prioritize patient well-being during challenging economic conditions.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Parker is actively involved in leading organizations, including the California Association of Healthcare Leaders, the American Academy of Professional Coders and the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists, for which she served as an invited speaker at conferences in 2019, 2021 and 2024.
